Ann Donald, former editor of Fairlady magazine, realised her dream and opened up a bookshop, and in 2006 Kalk Bay Books, with ceiling high wooden book shelves, got going.

The Book Lounge opened in 2007 and has experienced and passionate staff who can help you get the book you are looking for. Apart from their books, they also offer many interesting book related events, and invite you to come and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee in the lounge area while browsing through their varied selection of books.
The Book Lounge has also had a host of wonderful authors and have amassed a collection of signed copies which you can see.
Every Saturday morning kids between the ages of 3 and 8 can come and listen to a story at 11.00.
