They have been in business since 1974. Collectors Treasury is the largest used book store in the Southern Hemisphere.

You will be absolutely amazed by this bookstore, because there are no less than millions of books stacked everywhere plus other interesting things like LP records, sheet music, maps, porcelain and postcards. In fact of the eight storey building, seven are filled with books of every kind.

There are rows of collectible books inviting you to take a couple of hours and to explore.

Boekehuis | Auckland Park

They are an independent bookstore and were named one of 50 unique bookshops in the world by the International Booksellers Federation.The shop opened in 2000 and is located in a more than 100 year-old house, retaining the cosiness of the old house, with an adjoining coffee shop set in a delightful garden.

The bookshop stocks a range of books covering literature, politics, history – and more and has a wonderful collection of hand-picked books from world literature, philosophy, design, cultural studies, natural history and children’s books. It also has an excellent collection of Afrikaans books.
