Opening in 2009, Love Books is a small and independent bookshop offering a varied selection of books. Catering for adults and children, the books have been carefully selected and the shop is a wonderful place to spend a few hours.
Love Books was started by Jaci Jenkins and Kate Rogan who has produced the book show for Jenny Crwys-Williams at Talk Radio 702 for many years.
Comfortable and attractive, delicious wines and coffee – what more could you want than to spend time just being entertained.
If you are looking for a particular book not in store, Love Books will source out and deliver the book within 20kms of the shop.

Thorold is one of the city’s oldest bookshops, providing book lovers hours of pleasurable browsing. They specialise in Africana and are proud of their huge selection on their many shelves. If you’re looking for a book which isn’t there, which is highly unlikely, they will order it for you.
Frank R Thorold collects books from auctions, when travelling overseas or when someone is moving house.
The shop’s original Latin logo, ”ex Africa semper aliquid novi”, means ”always something new coming out of Africa”, and you experience something new and interesting everytime you visit this bookshop.

They have been in business since 1974. Collectors Treasury is the largest used book store in the Southern Hemisphere.
You will be absolutely amazed by this bookstore, because there are no less than millions of books stacked everywhere plus other interesting things like LP records, sheet music, maps, porcelain and postcards. In fact of the eight storey building, seven are filled with books of every kind.
There are rows of collectible books inviting you to take a couple of hours and to explore.
You’ll find books of every subject under the sun except for school textbooks and business management.

They are an independent bookstore and were named one of 50 unique bookshops in the world by the International Booksellers Federation.The shop opened in 2000 and is located in a more than 100 year-old house, retaining the cosiness of the old house, with an adjoining coffee shop set in a delightful garden.
The bookshop stocks a range of books covering literature, politics, history – and more and has a wonderful collection of hand-picked books from world literature, philosophy, design, cultural studies, natural history and children’s books. It also has an excellent collection of Afrikaans books.
Booklovers and readers love to come to The Boekehuis because of the interesting programmes of author readings, discussions and book launches and readers also meet writers..
