After quality paperback books hit the streets of London in 1935, Penquin Books, with their familiar orange spine and famous bird logo have sold millions upon millions of paperbacks and are still the treasured companion of devoted readers.

In 1970 a distribution office selling UK published books was set up in Johannesburg. The Penguin Group has companies in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, India, Canada, China and South Africa, and distribution networks around the globe.

Today Penguin South Africa is a leader in the book publishing industry. Their head office is in Johannesburg and they are also well represented in Cape Town and Durban.
