Art and architecture books | David Krut Publishing | Johannesburg
They were established in 1997 when David Krut produced the first major publication on William Kentridge in CD-ROM format. They have gone on to publish several more titles as well as a range of other specific interest books on contemporary South African art and architecture.
They specialise in books on art and arts-related subjects but also stock many titles on South African culture and politics, as well as range of biographies, books of poetry and literature, design, architecture and history, and collectibles.
At their bookstore in Parkwood you can browse through beautiful volumes on South African and international art, at Constitution Hill you can enjoy a tour of the Constitutional Court of South Africa before browsing for books on South African culture and politics in their store. The bookstore at the Johannesburg Art Gallery stocks a range of titles on South African and international art.
In all their stores are titles from David Krut Publishing, including the TAXI Art Books series. Check their website for the on-line book orders.
The TAXI Art Books seek to draw attention to the important work being produced by South African artists, and are also an excellent educational resource for both school and tertiary learners.
