They opened in 2008, and are one of only a few bookshops to be found in the Great Karoo area of South Africa, catering for customers who are craft oriented, offering free scrapbooking lessons.
When it comes to books, they realise that most people love books and they offer various book services to cater to meet their customers needs. They offer an exchange scheme, so that people with limited space for books can maintain their interest at reasonable prices.
They have in the region of 11 000 books – most of their books are second hand, but they also have a sprinkling of new books.

They have been in business since 1974. Collectors Treasury is the largest used book store in the Southern Hemisphere.
You will be absolutely amazed by this bookstore, because there are no less than millions of books stacked everywhere plus other interesting things like LP records, sheet music, maps, porcelain and postcards. In fact of the eight storey building, seven are filled with books of every kind.
There are rows of collectible books inviting you to take a couple of hours and to explore.
You’ll find books of every subject under the sun except for school textbooks and business management.

Established 53 years ago, their secondhand bookshops provide members
of the community who would otherwise not be able to afford it, with reading and study materials at a next to nothing cost.
School and university books are in high demand and they provide many of these books and study guides to candidates writing matriculation and other exams. Other books and magazines as well as travel guides, cooking books and novels are all available as used books.
They offer a customer friendly and pleasant experience they they rely heavily on the generous donations of books and other materials received from the Cape Town community.
